Jahangir Tareen wins legal battle against Sharifs

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court stayed Ittefaq Sugar Mills, Chaudhry and Habib Sugar Mills from functioning and ordered them to stop crushing for a week.
The apex court voiced displeasure over snub by the sugar mills that continued functioning despite the judicial orders to the contrary.
The court also signaled to kick-start contempt of court proceedings if so was proved.
The court approved the appeal of JDW Sugar Mills.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Jahangir Khan Tareen voiced his joy saying he fought a legal battle against Sharif family for two years and won.
During the hearing, petitioner Jahangir Khan Tareen’s counsel Aitezaz Ahsan said he fears, “Lest there should come anything like letters from Qatari Prince.”
Counsel Salman Akram Raja, who appeared before the court on behalf of Ittefaq Sugar Mills, said employees will get out of job if the crushing ceases.
Annulling the interim order by Lahore High Court (LHC), the apex court ordered Chaudhry and Habib Sugar Mills not to go for crushing for a week’s time. INP
