BULGARIA: Israeli football side Ashdod were forced to leaved the pitch in Bulgaria on Sunday as CSKA Sofia supporters charged at them.
The maelstrom erupted in the first minute of added time with Ashdod leading the match 1-0.
After a particularly hostile challenge from an Ashdod player, which resulted in a red card, Sofia players confronted their opposition before a deluge of bottles and other items rained down from the stands, aimed at the second-tier Israeli outfit.
Dozens of Sofia fans then joined their red team on the pitch.
Despite being the most successful team in Bulgarian history, the club was relegated to the country’s third division after their last campaign, due to financial issues.
