AL-QUDS: Israel is planning to build 300,000 houses in East Al-Quds as part of its so-called “Greater Jerusalem” bill.
In this connection, Yoav Galant, the Israeli Housing and Construction has kicked off a drive to pave way for the construction of 300,000 units in the East Al-Quds.
Israeli TV claimed that the planned houses was part of Israel’s so-called “Greater Jerusalem” bill. The bill aims at annexing settlements built on lands sought by Palestinians for their future state.
Majority of the houses will be constructed beyond the Green Line area, which was occupied by Israel during the 1967 Middle East war.
The Israeli move has come two weeks after the US president had officially recognised Al-Quds as Israel’s capital, sparking a wave of anger that swept the Muslim world.
Meanwhile, the Palestinian Foreign Ministry has strongly criticised the plan, terming it as a “direct result” of Trump’s move to recognise Al-Quds as Israel’s capital.
In a statement, the ministry said: “It is part of the colonialist project taking place in Jerusalem, the Jordan Valley, Hebron and elsewhere.”
