ISPR releases Operation Zarb-e-Azb details

As one and half year of Operation Zarb-e-Azb completed Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) has released the details of successful operation against terrorists.

According to ISPR, the operating is continuing phenomenally successful as backbone broken of terrorists destroyed and last pockets close to Pak-Afghanistan border being cleared.

At least 3400 terrorists were killed and 837 hideouts from where they were carrying out their terrorists activities destroyed, ISPR said.

During last 18 month over 13200 raids carried out across the country in which 183 hardcore terrorists were killed and 21193 arrested.

Success came at a heavy price with at least 488 valiant officers and men of Pakistan Army, FC Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Rangers Sind sacrificed their lives while 1914 injured in Operation Zarb-e-Azb.

Total 11 military court were setup with 142 cases referred to the courts, ISPR said. Total 55 cases decided while 87 cases are in process, ISPR added. At least 31 hardcore terrorists convicted as well.

Overall improvement in security, law and order owed to Operation Zarb-e-Azb.

ISPR also showed glimpse of some of weapons, ammunition, explosive and communication equipment recovered during the operation.
