ISLAMABAD: The newly elected Mayor and three Deputy Mayors of Islamabad Metropolitan Corporation on Friday took oath of their offices.
District and Sessions Judge Irum Niazi administered the oath of Mayor Sheikh Ansar and Deputy Mayors Zeeshan Ali Naqvi, Chaudhry Rifhat Javed and Muhammad Azam.
Earlier in February, Ansar bagged 49 votes against PTI candidate’s 26 votes to secure the position. Elected chairpersons from 50 union councils of the federal capital along with 27 members from reserved seats voted to elect the mayor and deputy mayors.
