Islamabad LG polls: polling stations divided into three categories

ISLAMABAD: Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Saturday received final security plan for upcoming local government (LG) election in the federal capital Islamabad on November 30.

Polling stations were divided into three categories during LG election while 8000 police officials, 700 Rangers personnel, 1000 Frontier Corps (FC) and more than 625 Army soldiers will be deployed across the federal capital.

According to security plan, most sensitive polling stations were categorised category A, sensitive in category B and normal in category C. Fifteen police officials and one Rangers’ personnel will be deployed in polling stations declared most sensitive while seven policemen on category B polling stations and five policemen on normal polling stations besides deployments of lady police officials. Military troops will perform duty as quick response force while flag marches will be organised by Army soldiers in sensitive areas.

Unauthorised persons will be prohibited in each polling station while voters will not be permitted to stay inside the polling station after casting their votes.
