ISLAMABAD: As many as 2396 candidates would contest for different positions in the local bodies (LB) elections in the federal capital Islamabad, scheduled on November 30.
Out of the total candidates, 255 will contest for seats of chairmen and vice chairmen, 1210 for general seats, 351 for women and 102 on minority’s seats.
A total of 6,84,804 voters of the Capital including 3,14,257 women will elect their LB representatives. Election Commission has already completed preparation of voters lists and displayed at offices of returning and district returning officers.
Meanwhile, training of the presiding officers and assisting staff for the Islamabad LB polls has also begun.
