ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz Islamabad chapter on Wednesday organized a protest rally in front of the National Press Club to condemn Kashmiris carnage at the hands of savage Indian army in Indian occupied Kashmir.
The rally was led by Minister for Information,Broadcasting and National Heritage Senator Pervaiz Rashid,Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Political Affairs Dr Asif Kirmani,Minister of State for Capital Administration and Development Division Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry.
The participants of the rally were carrying placards inscribed with anti-India and pro-freedom slogans and chanting slogans condemning Indian state terrorism in occupied Kashmir.
Addressing the participants of the rally Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid said that the black day was being observed on the directives of the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to condemn and highlight the genocide of Kashmiris at the hands of Indian occupation forces deployed in Kashmir.
He said that Kashmiris have been facing Indian excesses for several decades but recently a new wave of Indian atrocities has martyred countless youth only because they were demanding their right of self-determination as promised by the United Nations.
He said that the martyred Kashmiris had not committed any crime, what they were demanding was right to self-will either through their writings and through their voice.
The minister said that India claims to be the largest democracy in the world but voice of innocent Kashmiris was being curbed in this democracy.
The purpose of observing this black day was to awaken the world conscience from its slumber and highlight the Indian atrocities.
Pervaiz Rashid said that Pakistani masses stand by their Kashmiri brethren and moral,political and diplomatic support for the just Kashmir cause will continue till liberation of Kashmir from Indian clutches.
He said United nations had promised that Kashmiris were free to make decision about their destiny and Pakistan will support them till realization of that goal.
Pervaiz Rashid said that people from all walks of life were present in the rally including Mayor Islamabad,deputy mayors,religious scholars, intellectuals and general public.
Special Assistant to PM Dr Asif Kirmani said the nation was observing the black day on the directives of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to highlight Indian excesses in the occupied Kashmir.
He said that dozens of Kashmiris have been martyred and hundreds injured during last few day which shows that India was trying to crush the freedom struggle through the barrel of gun,but it cannot do so.
He said that sacrifices of Burhan Wani and tens of thousands of other Kashmiris will not go waste and Kashmiris will soon get freedom from Indian clutches.
He questioned as to how many freedom loving Kashmiris India will kill as from every home a Burhan Wani will come out.
Kirmani said that it was responsibility of the world community in general and the United Nations in particular to pressurize India to stop genocide of Kashmiris.
Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry said that the participants of the rally strongly condemn Indian atrocities in IOK, and voice in support for the Kashmiri brethren has been raised from every nook and cranny of the country.
He said the world community should take notice of the Kashmir situation and world media should highlight the plight of Kashmiris so that India should realize that it has usurped Kashmiris right of self-determination.
He said that the PML-N government will continue to raise the issue at all international forums,to highlight the India state terrorism.
