JAKARTA: Indonesian passenger plane along with 54 passengers on board went mining over Papua region on Sunday.
Indonesia’s state search and rescue agency reported that it has lost contact with the Indonesian aircraft when the plane was flying over Papua.
Search called off at nightfall after Trigana Air flight with 54 people on board lost contact over eastern Papua region.
Sources said that the missing plane belonged to Trigana Airline and ATR-42 model plane. 44 passengers, two children, three toddlers and five crew members were on board the plane.
The passengers include 44 adults, two children, three toddlers and five crew members. The aircraft lost contact while flying over the remote eastern Papua region at 2:55pm local time, sources said.
The weather is currently very bad there, it is very dark and cloudy. It is not helpful for a search because the area is mountainous.
