New Delhi: The India’s apex court has dismissed all 18 pleas that sought a review of its controversial judgment in the Ayodhya land dispute here on Thursday.

Chief Justice of India SA Bobde heading a five-member bench heard the petitions.

The All India Muslims Personal Law Board, Nirmohi Akhara and about 40 civil rights activists were among the petitioners.

Last month, in a clear biased judgement, top Indian court had ordered to hand over the disputed Babri Mosque land to the Hindus. However, a five members bench directed to allot Muslims an alternate land as a replacement for the destroyed Babri Mosque.

Amid tight security measures across the country, the Supreme Court of India announced the verdict on the ownership of a centuries-old religious site claimed by both majority Hindus and Muslims.

Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi remarked that the verdict was unanimous.

He observed the Muslim community should not be deprived of a structure. They will get alternative site for a mosque, he added.
