PATNA: A girls college here on Saturday banned wearing burqa for Muslim  students on the premises.

According to reports, the administration of JD Women College issued a dress code that bans wearing of burqa inside the institution.

The official notification announced an imposition of fine of Rs250 if any Muslims student found wearing burqa on the college premises.

College principal Dr Shyama Rai said that the new dress code has been introduced to observe uniformity among the girl students.
