Indian Sikhs to arrive Pakistan for Besakhi Mela

LAHORE: The first batch of Sikh yatrees will arrive here on April 12 at Wagah railway station from India by a special train to participate Besakhi Mela.

On arrival at the Wagah border, pilgrims will be welcomed by Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) Chairman, officers and members of Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parbandak Committee.

It was stated by Chairman Evacuee Trust Property Board Siddiq-ul-Farooq while talking to media here at the ETPB office after chairing a meeting regarding Besakhi Mela arrangements. Secretary ETPB Javed Bashir, Add Secretary Shrines Khalid Ali and other office bearers of the board were also present on the occasion.

He said that all arrangement had been made for provision of best possible facilities to the pilgrims and air-conditioned coaches had also been arranged for senior citizens and special persons.

He said that fool proof security arrangements have been completed as more than 2500 yatrees would likely to attend the ceremonies.
