Indian police arrest Yasin Malik in Srinagar

Indian police arrested the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), Muhammad Yasin Malik, in Srinagar to prevent him from leading anti-India demonstrations on Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi’s visit to the territory, today.

According to Kashmir Media Service,the police took Muhammad Yasin Malik into custody after raiding his residence in Maisuma area of Srinagar and lodged him at Kothi Bagh police station.

The occupation authorities had already placed many Hurriyat leaders including Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai, Mukhtar Ahmed Waza, Hilal Ahmed War, Javaid Ahmed Mir and Molvi Bashir Ahmed Irfani under house arrest or in custody to stop them from leading anti-India demonstrations.

Meanwhile, complete shutdown is being observed in the occupied territory against Modi’s visit.

Call for shutdown has been given by the Joint Resistance Leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik as a mark of protest against tyranny and oppression against Kashmiris during five years of Modi’s rule.
