NEW DELHI: President of Hindu hardliner party Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) Pravin Togadia on Sunday said those who hoist Pakistani flags in Kashmir must be “shot”.

“The way Pakistani flags are being hoisted in Kashmir is a matter of concern and now it is necessary to shoot people in their chest if they shout slogans in favour of Pakistan and hoist Pakistani flags,” Togadia told Indian media

Earlier this month, in an apparent insult at India’s secular identity Tagodia also demanded that India should be declared a ‘Hindu’ state

“India should be declared a Hindu rashtra (nation) by the BJP led central government,” Togadia said in Bihar’s Madhepura district after offering prayers at the Sinheshwar temple.

Togadia said it was high time that all Hindus were united and alert and aware about their religion. He said that cow slaughter should be banned in the country. Togadia is currently on a two-day visit to Bihar to attend VHP functions in different parts of the state.
