Indian army’s stray bomb martyrs boy in IOK

SRINAGAR: Indian Army continues to claim lives of Kashmiri youth in direct or indirect fire as a 16-year-old boy was killed in an explosion of army’s stray bomb in Handwara area of Kupwara district of Indian Held Kashmir.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the victim was identified as Fayaz Ahmad Mochi of Machipora Rajwar area of the district.

Locals said that around 10 AM, the boy had ventured some 2 kilometers deep into the thick forests to collect Shajkun, a wild mushroom on Saturday and a blast was heard in the forest area around 12:30 PM.

Boy didn’t return till late into night despite desperate wait by the family members.

Sunday noon, villagers spotted the body of the boy on a forest ridge.

Wild life forester Handwara Habibullah Butt told media that the boy had died in stray shell explosion as there were burn injuries on his left leg right arm, and face.
