SRINAGAR: A day after India restored cell phone restrictions after 72 days, authorities once again blocked text messages in the occupied Kashmir on Tuesday.

The authorities are blaming the killing of a truck driver by suspected militant for the latest restriction on text messaging service in the valley.

The ban will help cut communication ability of suspected militants, they said.

On Monday, India had restored text and call services in the valley.
