NEW DELHI: India has summoned the Turkish ambassador over President Erdogan’s recent statement on the occupied Kashmir.
According to details, the Turkish president during his last week’s visit to Pakistan had said that India’s new initiatives caused the situation in occupied Kashmir to further worsen.
The Indian foreign office told Turkish Ambassador Sakir Ozkan Torunlar that the statement by Erdogan lacked understanding of the Kashmir issue’s history.
The Turkish president addressing the joint session of the parliament said that Ankara stood in deep solidarity with the Kashmiris.
He said that the Kashmir issue is as close to Ankara as it is to Pakistanis.
