India grab victory against Sri Lanka to reach Asia Cup final

MIRPUR: India won against Sri Lanka by five wickets to reach T20 Asia Cup 2016 final after grabbing consecutive third victory in the match played at Shere Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur.

Virat Kohli once again drove his team to the victory stand by smashing 56 off 47 balls as the opening batting lineup slumped while Yuvraj Singh made 35 precious runs off 18 balls.

Nuwan Kulasekara grabbed two wickets while Thisara Perera, Rangana Herath and Dasun Shanaka took one wicket each.

Sri Lanka set up 139-run target after loss of nine wickets against India during 7th match of the tournament.

Chamara Kapugedera scored 30 runs to become top scorer, Milinda Siriwardana on second with 22 runs and two batsmen made 18 runs each including Tillakaratne Dilshan and Angelo Mathews respectively.

Ravichandran Ashwin, Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya took two wickets each while Ashish Nehra managed to take only one wicket in the match.

Earlier, Indian team with Shikhar Dhawan’s return won the toss and elected to field first against Sri Lanka.
