In North Waziristan: Three soldiers martyred in Afghan cross-border attack

RAWALPINDI: Three soldiers were martyred and seven others injured as terrorists attacked Pakistani security forces fencing the Pak-Afghan border in North Waziristan, the military’s media wing said in a statement on Wednesday.

Around 60-70 terrorists, from across the border, attacked the security forces fencing the border in Alwara, North Waziristan. Three Pakistan Army soldiers embraced martyrdom while seven soldiers were injured in the attack, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.

Several terrorists were killed in retaliatory firing by the Pakistan Army, the statement added.

Lance Naik Ali, Lance Naik Nazir, Sepoy Imdad Ullah were martyred in the attack.

Pakistan will continue to fence the border despite all obstacles, the ISPR said.

There is a need for Afghan security forces and officials to have effective control on their border. Afghan soil should not be used against Pakistan, the statement further said.
