KARACHI: In a first ever action, Karachi police on Thursday arrested a man for throwing garbage on roadside.
According to reports, Sukhan police arrested one Abdul Jabbar for throwing garbage on a road outside his house.
Police said that the man has been detained under Section 144.
Earlier, the Sindh government had imposed Section 144 of the criminal procedure code (CrPC) on littering, burning of garbage and throwing debris on streets and open places. The violators might be jailed for littering.
The commuters who threw out trash on the streets and roads from their vehicles will also face strict action.
