LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Secretary Information Senator Mushahidullah Khan has said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan is working on the agenda of ‘international establishment’.

Addressing a press conference at the Lahore Press Club on Tuesday, he said that sit-ins were, in fact, a conspiracy against China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

He said that CPEC was a game-changer project but some countries did not want to see Pakistan as an economically strong state. Unfortunately, some immature politicians and their NGO-type parties had become puppets in the hands of these countries, he added.

He said that Pakistan had to face Rs 800 billion loss due to last sit-in and that is why the public was rejecting them again and again, he added.

Mushahidullah said that Premier Nawaz Sharif offered the PTI formation of an independent commission to probe the rigging issue, but Imran Khan refused and went for a sit-in and ultimately agreed on the same commission.

And now, he added, when accountability has become a non-issue, Imran Khan has again rejected an offer about the probe. The people who are chanting slogans for accountability would themselves be held accountable soon, he added.

“CPEC is bringing a huge investment of $46 billion and after the project completes, trade worth over $1000 billion will come to Pakistan,” he added.

To a question about Justice (retd) Amir Raza, head of inquiry committee tasked with the probe into the Newsgate, the PML-N leader said: “He has a good reputation and he had refused former dictator to take an oath under PCO and he will do justice at every cost”.

He said that people in Pakistan feel good if the verdict comes in their favour and raise fingers at courts if decision comes against them. This trend should be ended now and maturity should be shown, he added.

To another query about any political crisis, Mushahid replied that the government would complete its tenure and there is no reason for toppling it.

“Chief of Army Staff Gen Raheel Sharif is a great man. It is for the first time that any head of army has himself refused getting any extension,” he added.

About Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, he said that Pakistan People’s Party’s position might be different if Bilawal was actually a “Bhutto”. He said Asif Zardari is himself a head of a parliamentary party, which is called Pakistan People’s Party Parliamentarians.
