Imran stole Punjab’s mandate, Nawaz Sharif took revenge today: Maryam Nawaz

LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice-President Maryam Nawaz has said that Imran Khan stole the Punjab mandate in 2018 and today Nawaz Sharif has taken revenge for stealing the mandate.

Addressing the media after the election of Shehbaz Sharif as the Chief Minister of Punjab in the symbolic session of the Punjab Assembly on Wednesday, she said that Hamza Shehbaz would serve the people of Punjab.

He congratulated Hamza Shehbaz on his election and said that Usman Buzdar was only a symbolic chief minister.

The PML-N central vice president said that Farah had no position. She was someone’s front person. Hamza Shehbaz has been elected Punjab chief minister in a constitutional manner today.

The daughter of PML-N leader Mian Nawaz Sharif said that the people of Punjab had got a failed chief minister like Usman Buzdar while Shehbaz Sharif had set records of service in Punjab.

Maryam Nawaz said that vote thieves had made people’s lives miserable. When it came time for reckoning, Punjab Assembly has been locked.

Earlier, During a symbolic session of the Punjab Assembly on Wednesday, 199 members passed a resolution to elect Hamza Shahbaz as chief minister.

After the doors of the Punjab Assembly were closed, the opposition called a symbolic session at a local hotel.

The symbolic meeting, held at a local hotel, was attended by members of the joint opposition, Jahangir Tareen and Abdul Aleem Khan groups.

In the symbolic meeting, a resolution was tabled to elect Hamza Shahbaz as the chief minister and the members stood up and approved the resolution.

199 members voted in favour of the resolution. On this occasion, the hall resounded with the slogans of Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shahbaz.
