ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has said that Nov 2 match against Nawaz Sahirf’s ‘Corruption Eleven’ will decide whether there will be democracy or monarchy will continue.
Addressing lawyers at Islamabad High Court Bar, Imran Khan said that the Nov 2 protest was not struggle of a single party rather it was of the whole Pakistan’s. He said that whenever he gave a call for protest, a hue and cry was raised that there was a threat to democracy. He said that democracy was threaten when there was rampant corruption and institution were being destroyed.
The PTI chief said that without free and fair elections, independent and across the board accountability there would be no democracy.
Imran dubbed Opposition Leader Khurshid Shah as “Double Shah”, saying that siding a criminal was a criminal act. He said that Shah should be ashamed for defending a criminal.
On the other hand, PTI decided that party Chief Imran Khan would not seek bail in the PTV Headquarters attack case. PTI Spokesman Naeemul Haq said that if Imran Khan was arrested there would be severe reaction. He criticized the government saying that declaring the most popular leader of the country as terrorist was madness.
