LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf chairman Imran Khan asked the Khyber Pakhtunkwha government to go after banned extremist groups which were involved in sectarian violence.
While talking to media after chairing party meeting, which was attended by Jehangir Tarin, Mian Mehmood-ur-Rashid, Ejaz Chaudhary, Shafqat Mehmood and others. Imran said that he has asked the chief minister Khyber Pakhtukhwa to consult army during apex committee for taking action against the sectarian religious groups. He expressed grave concern over increasing target killing incidents in theprovince.
The PTI chief also announced that the Panama papers issue would not be let die down unless the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif present himself for accountability.
He said that he would announce PTI’s protest plan on July 20 to force the government to agree on the opposition’s TORs for investigation into Panama papers leaks. He said that the meeting decided that the government shall be pressurized through streets protest to investigate the matter.
Imran Khan also consulted with party leaders about organising a possible protest in Lahore after the party’s public meeting in Sialkot.
Imran Khan said that the government should stop wasting time over the Panama Leaks issue, adding that the government was working upon the policy of delaying matters.
Khan stated that a movement would be initiated over the Panama Leaks issue, further adding that the movement would not end until Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif was not held accountable.
He stated that tax evasion, corruption and money laundering were major issues of Pakistan and Nawaz Sharif was involved in these crimes.
“How can the PM apprehend other thieves when he does not hold himself accountable?” Khan enquired.
