Imran approves three names for CEC office

ISLAMABAD: The government on Thursday proposed three names for the post of the chief election commissioner (CEC).

Prime Minister Imran Khan has approved the names of Babar Yaqoob, Arif Khan  and Fazal Abbas for the post of CEC today, the last day of incumbent Justice (retd) Sardar Mohammad Raza’s tenure.

On the other hand, Shehbaz Sharif, the opposition leader in National Assembly had proposed three names – Jalil Abbas Jilani, Akhlaq Ahmad Tarar and Mahmood Khosa for the office of CEC.
