Pakistan’s left-arm spinner Imad Wasim has vaulted to the top five of the ICC T20I Rankings for Bowlers after leading Pakistan’s clean sweep of the West Indies in the three-match T20 series in UAE.
Imad, who with nine wickets was the leading wicket-taker in the series and player of the series, climbed 33 spots in the latest rankings released by the ICC on Wednesday, private news channel reported.
At number four, Imad is now Pakistan’s highest-ranked bowler. West Indies’ Samuel Badree is five points ahead at number three, while South Africa’s Imran Tahir tops the rankings.
Pakistan’s Sohail Tanvir, who bagged five wickets in the series, rose 19 places to reach 36th position.
In the batting rankings, all-rounder Shoaib Malik climbed 10 spots and is now at number 35. The series’ top-scorer Babar Azam rocketed 201 places to reach 66th position, while opener Khalid Latif broke into the top 100 for the first time to reach 94th position.
Pakistan meanwhile remain at number seven in the ICC T20I Team Rankings. New Zealand are the number one ranked team, followed by India and South Africa.
