ISLAMABAD: The International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI) organized a national workshop on “Power Electronics with Renewable Integration (NWPERI) which was attended by more than 200 participants including engineering professionals, experts and students.
The workshop was organized by department of Electrical Engineering of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET) of the university which discussed vital topics of the workshop such as Electromagnetics of Power Converters, Working Principle of Gate Driver Circuits, Large Scale Wind Power Integration and Switch Implementation and Utilization in high power converters.
During the workshop renowned engineering experts and scholars delivered lectures who included Prof. Nauman Ahamd Zafar (LUMS), Prof. Dr. Syed Muhammad Raza Kazmi (NUST), Dr. Abdul Basit (UET, Peshawar) and Engr. Tila Muhammad (IIUI).
Speaking to the workshop, Dr. Ahmed Yousif Al-Draweesh, President IIUI, said that technology is the best way to achieve the destination of success. He said grip over technological advancements is perquisite as pace of the advancements has doubled. Dr. Al-Draiweesh said that Pakistan is known for its engineers across the world and especially in Saudi Arabia. He said that the FET of the university was heading towards the right direction, while he hailed the faculty Dean, HoDs and rest of the organizing team of the workshop and termed it as a significant constructive activity.
Dr. Aqdas Naveed Malik, Dean FET said that workshop was aimed at delivering comprehensive lectures on power electronic which will be applicable in research and development. He added that the workshop provided an opportunity to young participants to meet the experienced and highly qualified professionals where they shared knowledge and innovative ideas. He hailed efforts of Principal Organizer of workshop, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Amir, Secretary, Engr. Tila Muhammad and other organizers for the hard work and excellent management of the workshop.
