ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has barred prominent lawyer Naeem Bukhari from working as chairman PTV.
Chief Justice Islamabad High Court Athar Minallah heard the petition against the appointment of Naeem Bukhari as chairman PTV.
A representative of the Ministry of Information appeared in the court on the order of the Islamabad High Court.
The Chief Justice Islamabad High Court inquired whether the government relaxed the age limit? To which the Ministry of Information replied that the age limit has been relaxed.
A summary was sent on November 13 and another on November 26, the Information Ministry spokesman said.
Justice Athar Minallah remarked that the ministry itself had appointed Naeem Bukhari as chairman PTV and sent a summary to the cabinet. The Ministry of Information is not authorized to appoint chairman PTV, he observed.
