KARACHI: Inspector General of Police (IGP), Sindh, A.D. Khawaja, has directed that the security in the province should be strengthened.
A police spokesman said here on Tuesday that the directive to this effect has been issued in the wake of remote controlled blast in Swat, Khyber Pukhtunkhawa.
The spokesman said that the IGP Sindh called for beefing up security under the provincial security plan.
The IGP Sindh directed that security of the important buildings and installation should be made more effective at the level of police ranges, districts and zones.
He said that there be effective surveillance, picketing and searching at the entry and exit routes in the province. Patrolling, random snap checking, picketing and patrolling should also be enhanced.
