KARACHI, May 15 (APP): The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Sindh, A.D. Khawaja, has directed that a comprehensive security plan be devised for Shab-e-Barat.
A spokesman for the Sindh police said here on Sunday that the IGP has issued instructions to all the DIGs for this purpose.
The IGP said that a contingency plan should be made for the protection of life and property of the people and for ensuring smooth flow of traffic.
A.D. Khawaja called for steps against sale and use of firecrackers and aerial firing and stern action against the violators.
He instructed that there should be ensured clearing and sweeping by the bomb disposal squad.
The IGP directed that special traffic arrangements should be made at graveyards, mazars and Dargahs.
He also called for police personnel’s deployment at police stations’ level, patrolling, picketing, snap checking, surveillance and intelligence sharing.
