I’d have included Sarfraz in T20 team: Younis Khan

Pakistan cricket team’s former captain Younis Khan on Thursday said that Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) should value players like the wicket keeper batsman Sarfraz Ahmed.

Talking to media, the cricketer said that Sarfraz Ahmed is a talented cricketer and if he were in the captain’s place, he would have included the wicket keeper batsman in the playing eleven without doubt.

It must be remembered that Pakistan cricket team’s management came under heavy criticism after Sarfraz Ahmed’s exclusion from T20 team during the two matches played against Sri Lanka.

Yesterday, former cricketer Ramiz Raja while talking to a British media house also said that Sarfraz was the best choice if the team were to include a wicket keeper batsman in the T20 playing eleven.

“He is a match winner and his sort of players get preference on the team sheet”, said Raja.

The cricketer who is now one of the top commentators in international cricket maintained that the question about an in-form vice captain’s exclusion from the team is still unanswered.

He remarked that Pakistan team did not have a big pool of players as far as selection choices are concerned.

“The team is still not in a strong position and they have started experimenting with the squad”, lamented Raja.

He maintained that if the experiment (of Sarfraz’s exclusion) would have failed and the team would have lost the match, the management would have to face a lot of embarrassment before the nation.
