ISLAMABAD: As polling process is underway in first ever Local Government Elections in Islamabad but sill polling process not yet began in a few polling station.
The war for power has begun in ICT but on a few polling station the process yet to be stated. In a few polling stations, the polling staff haven’t arrived yet while in some stations the distribution process hasn’t completed while in some station the polling process suspended after the involvement of candidates.
It is pertinent to mention here that, Over 2,400 candidates are in the fray for the slots of chairman, vice chairman and councilors. There are over 670,000 registered voters in ICT.
Elaborate arrangements have been made to ensure security during the exercise.
At least 625 Army personnel and 700 Rangers besides police will be deployed in the federal capital.
About one thousand FC personnel will also help maintain law and order.
