ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan chose the International Monetary Fund (IMF) as a solution for the country’s financial crisis over an other alternative way, which was presented by then finance minister Asad Umar.

This has been emerged at an event organised by the Karachi School of Business and Leadership (KSBL).

Speaking at the gathering, Standing Committee on Finance Chairman Asad Umar claimed that he had informed the prime minister that consulting the IMF was now not compulsion but a choice.

But Prime Minister Imran Khan decided to opt for the IMF, he added.
