LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Q leader Moonis Elahi has given a statement regarding the FIR of the murder attempt on Imran Khan.
The Supreme Court has ordered the IG Punjab to register the FIR of the attack on Imran Khan within 24 hours. However, the IG Punjab told the court that he was prevented from registering the FIR by the Punjab government.
Moonis Elahi retweeted a tweet related to the statement of IG Punjab on Twitter and said that the FIR of the murder attack on Imran Khan has been prevented from being registered against unknown persons.
He said that the police have been prevented from filing an FIR against their choice.
Meanwhile, the Supreme Court of Pakistan here on Monday ordered Punjab Inspector General of Police Faisal Shahkar to register the first information report (FIR) of the murder attempt on PTI Chairman Imran Khan.
Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial ordered to file the case within 24 hours.
The Chief Justice directed that register an FIR within 24 hours otherwise he will take suo motu notice.
IG Shahkar, however, told the Supreme Court that the Punjab government was not allowing him to register the case. He added that he had spoken to the Punjab CM regarding the registration of the case but Ealhi had expressed some reservations.
The Chief Justice remarked that under the criminal justice system, police can file the case itself. He added that it’s been more than 90 hours but the case has not been filed.
Yesterday, PTI Chairman Imran Khan had announced resumption of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s long march from Wazirabad on Tuesday.
In a press conference at Shaukat Khanum Hospital, Imran Khan demanded a clean and transparent investigation into the murderous attack on himself in Wazirabad, saying that our government is in Punjab, but no FIR has been filed for three days.
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman announced that the Long March will start again from Wazirabad from Tuesday, saying that the Long March will start again from where it stopped there. I will address the participants of the March every day. I will join the March after 10 to 15 days when I reach in Rawalpindi.
Imran said that a campaign was organized against me. Everything was done under the script. The interview of the gunman was leaked and the police said that there was pressure from behind.
Earlier, former Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed says that Imran Khan’s long march has stopped temporarily but is not over.
Sheikh Rasheed on the social networking website Twitter said that the FIR has not been registered for three days because there is no electricity in the police station but the political temperature has not decreased.
Rashid added that judges are highly respected but not investigative.
Former Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed said that the incompetent unpopular government has completely failed, while the failed censorship of PEMRA was a conspiracy against the media.
Earlier, the federal government has decided to take legal action against Imran Khan and other party leaders in the light of ISPR’s statement.
