I have advised PM Governor's Rule not possible: Attorney General

ISLAMABAD: Attorney General of Pakistan Khalid Javed Khan has said that he had advised the prime minister that there is no situation of implementation of Governor’s Rule.

In an exclusive interview with Geo News, the Attorney General said that the Prime Minister has been advised that there should be no Governor’s Rule in Sindh at all.

He said that for the interpretation of Article 63A, the reference will be submitted to the Supreme Court on Monday. Changing allegiance is breach of trust. How can political parties get out of horse trading and blackmailing of few members of assembly? How can change of allegiance be prevented while remaining in the current constitutional scheme?

On the question of stopping the no-confidence motion by the Speaker on the basis of the reference till the court opinion, the Attorney General said that the Speaker did not ask him for any opinion in this regard.

Earlier, according to the sources, the Interior Ministry may send a summary of Governor Rule in Sindh to the prime minister.

It may be recalled that while talking to the media, Sheikh Rasheed had said that he had proposed to the prime minister to impose the Governor Rule in Sindh and the final decision would be taken by the premier.

He further said that no action is being taken in Sindh House Islamabad. It is a matter between the MNAs who have gone there and the people of their constituencies now, the interior minister said. But it has become clear that the money of the people of Sindh is being used there.

Sheikh Rasheed said that he has already spoken to Imran Khan. I had suggested that the Governor Rule should be imposed in Sindh. Now it is up to the prime minister to do what he wants.

Rasheed said that Sindh House has been exposed, the nation stands with Imran Khan.

Meanwhile, Raja Riaz, a member of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) Jahangir Tareen group has claimed that there were 24 MNAs are present at the Sindh House in Islamabad.

Talking to Geo News at the Sindh House, Raja Riaz revealed that they were present in Sindh House due to attack on Parliament Lodges.
