ISLAMABAD: Director-General Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Lieutenant-General Asim Saleem Bajwa on Monday termed the news items about extension in service of Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif as ‘baseless’.
In his latest Twitter message, Bajwa said that all such news items have no ground and are completely baseless.
He quoted COAS Gen. Raheel Sharif as saying “I do not believe in extension of my service and will retire at the stipulated time.” The national interest is supreme and I will keep it on top always, he added.
Pakistan Army is one of the paramount organizations of the country. Determined efforts will continue to eliminate the scourge of terrorism”, COAS said in firm tone.
