For the first time in Punjab,Pakistan a woman has been appointed in the highest legislative office i.e advocate general.

She joined office after the offical announcemt by provincial government on Tuesday.

Asma Hamid holds a master’s degree in constitutional law from the renowned university of Harvard. Before, being appointed advocate general she has succesfully served in Lahore high court and supreme court of Pakistan.

In 2017, it was through her struggle that the government of Pakistan without delebrating with the concerned cabinet put a stop to opening of new cement factories to bring about a proeper ruglating system.

This office is not new to the new AG she had already been appointed as assistant AG back in the year 2014 January, after an year she was promoted to the position of additional AG. During her tenure there she also became the interim in charge of the office.

Asma Hamid in an interview said ” I am the representative of Punjab not of Punjab government, I have served national not personal interest’s. This is why I am known from high to supreme courts.”
