KARACHI: Former cricketer Shahid Afridi has said that he advised to remove Sarfaraz Ahmed as captain of Quetta Gladiators.
Shahid Afridi while speaking on a private TV program said that Quetta Gladiators owner Nadeem Umar had consulted me before the start of Pakistan Super League 8. I told him to include Sarfraz Ahmed as a player so that he can perform well. He should be under pressure of his performance instead of the team and he can enjoy his game
Shahid Afridi further said that the reason for the continuous defeat of Quetta Gladiators in PSL 8 is the team management strategy. Every team should have a player on the bench who can replace a player when he is out, but this strategy is nowhere to be seen in the Quetta Gladiators team.
Afridi said that many changes have been made in the Quetta team. Sarfaraz’s performance as captain is crucial. The team of Karachi Kings is not performing but the performance of captain Imad Wasim is visible. He is leading the team because the captain’s performance is most important for the team
