Rangers have foiled major terrorism bid in the metropolis by recovering a large cache of ammunition reportedly belonging to a political party in Karachi.
The ammunition was unearthed in Landhi area of the metropolitan city during a raid conducted by the law enforcement agency following a tip off by an arrested person of a political party.
Weaponry was hidden inside Al-Burraq Gym Khana while the ammunition include large cache of small and heavy weapons and explosive hazards, Rangers’ spokesperson said.
The weapons include 40 awan bombs, rifles, rocket launchers and explosive materials. The spokesperson added that an armed wing of a political party planned to conduct a major terrorism activity in the metropolis that has been foiled by the recent action.
