HOUSTON: Police dispatched a bomb squad on Tuesday to George Bush Intercontinental Airport to investigate a possible bomb threat against a Delta Air Lines plane, a police spokesman said.
The spokesman did not offer further details about the incident and officials at Delta (DAL.N) were not immediately available for comment, Reuters reported.
Officials for the airport, one of the busiest in the United States, did not respond to a request to comment
Local TV broadcaster KHOU said the search has been completed and the plane will be returned to service.
The plane was preparing to depart earlier on Tuesday when it was called back to the gate for a security check, KHOU said. Passengers and luggage were also taken off the plane for additional screening.
