HONG KONG: Hong Kong stocks were up while Shanghai was flat at the open Friday, following a day of gains.
The Hang Seng Index gained 0.52 percent, or 116.75 points, to 22,573.44 soon after opening.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index inched down 0.05 percent, or 1.63 points, to 3,163.78.
The Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China’s second exchange, shed 0.11 percent, or 2.22 points, to 2,003.36.
