HONG KONG: Shares fell again in Hong Kong soon after opening Thursday, extending the previous day’s sharp sell-off as traders grow increasingly worried about the outcome of next week’s US presidential election.
The Hang Seng Index fell 0.16 percent, or 35.68 points to 22,774.82.
And the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index fell 0.19 percent, or 5.96 points, to 3,096.77, while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China’s second exchange, declined 0.24 percent, or 4.89 points, to 2,055.16.
