HONG KONG: Hong Kong stocks ended Monday morning lower as enthusiasm continued to wane after last week’s decision by the Federal Reserve not to hike interest rates this month.
The Hang Seng Index shed 159.78 points, or 0.67 percent, to close out the morning at 23,526.70.
Losses were similar on the mainland, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.71 percent, or 21.56 points, to 3,012.34.
The Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China’s second exchange, fell 0.67 percent, or 13.52 points, to 1,994.60.
