Hong Kong shares track Wall St record higher

HONG KONG: Hong Kong shares rallied on the back of a Wall Street record on Thursday, clocking up a fourth-straight gain, after Federal Reserve boss Janet Yellen suggested the central bank would raise US interest rates more gradually.

The Hang Seng Index rose 1.16 percent, or 302.53 points, to 26,346.17.

And the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index rose 0.64 percent, or 20.62 points, to 3,218.16 while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China’s second exchange, edged down 0.04 percent, or 0.75 points, to 1,888.70.
