KARACHI: Every woman should be made feel the sense of protection, respect and love through the Islam’s system of hijab.

These views were expressed by Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Women Wing Secretary General Dr Durdana Siddique while addressing a press conference in connection with the “Hijab Day” being marked on Sept 4 here on Tuesday.

Hijab (headscarf) is not only a dress code but represents a complete system, she told the media.

It (headscarf) is a symbol of the system that provided protection to women and inheritance rights like men.

The World Hijab Day is marked so that the world realises the women’s right of hijab, Dr Durdana said.

JI Women Wing Deputy Secretary Amina Usman, JI Karachi Nazima Asma Safeer, Director Media Cell Women Wing Aalia Mansoor and Secretary Information Women Wing Saima Iftikhar were also present on the occasion.
