Scholars and users of Hijab said that headscarf is becoming popular among educated women due to combined cultural and religious values in the South Asian country.

The educated hijab users have claimed the headscarf is not only a religious obligation but it also dignifies and beautifies women.
In 2013, Nazma Khan, a Bengali-born woman in the US, had introduced World Hijab Day to counter the discriminatory attitude against the hijab wearing women.
