LAHORE: The federal government has been served a notice by the Lahore High Court on Pervez Musharraf’s miscellaneous petitions that prayed the LHC to stay proceedings in the high treason case pending in a special court.

The LHC, in a plea, has been urged to declare the high treason case proceedings as unconstitutional.

The Islamabad’s special court is expected to issue the judgment in the said case on Tuesday (Dec 17).

Earlier on Dec 5, a special court had announced that the judgment in the high treason case against ex-president Gen (retd) Pervez Musharraf would be issued on Dec 17.

Hearing the case a three-member bench led by Peshawar High Court Chief Justice Waqar Ahmed Seth remarked that the verdict would be announced on the given date even if arguments were not completed by the both parties.
