KARACHI: The city administration has issued new directives to the residents of Karachi terming the helmet-wearing compulsory for the bike rider and his companion including women.
As per details, this new safety law would be implemented across Karachi from June 9 and the violators would pay fine of Rs 150 to Rs 300.
Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Traffic Ameer Sheikh stated that nearly 60 percent accidents in the metropolis involved motorcyclists. The rule has been made mandatory in accordance with the Motorcycle Safety Ordinance.
