Adviser on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz says Heart of Asia Conference highly appreciated Pakistan’s role for peace and stability in the region.
Giving policy statement in the National Assembly today, he said there were two breakthroughs at the conference, including improvement in Pakistan’s relations with Afghanistan and agreement between Pakistan and India for resumption of comprehensive dialogue.
He said foreign secretaries of Pakistan and India will meet soon to discuss modalities regarding comprehensive bilateral dialogue. The Adviser assured that standing committees concerned of the National Assembly and Senate will be taken into confidence in this regard.
Sartaj Aziz said all the issues, including Jammu and Kashmir, will be discussed in the comprehensive bilateral dialogue. He said 9th of December 2015 was a historic day in the diplomatic history.
Earlier, the House was informed that efforts are underway to enhance the early warning and weather forecasting capacity of Pakistan Meteorological Department.
Answering a question, Minister for Climate Change Zahid Hamid informed the House that there is no steel mill and brick kiln located in residential areas of Islamabad.
