Hajj sermon: Imam-e-Kaaba calls Muslims’ unity to face challenges

ARAFAAT: Imam-e-Kaaba Abdur Rehman al-Sudais Sunday called upon the Muslim Ummah to demonstrate unity to face the present day challenges.

In his Khutba-e-Hajj from Masjid Nimra, he said Muslim Ummah is passing through a difficult time and they can overcome these difficulties only through unity.

He said Muslim rulers will have to address the collective problems realising their responsibilities. He called upon the Muslim rulers to ensure justice to the people pointing out that the basis of Islam is Adl (justice).

The Imam said terrorism is the biggest problem today and made it clear that terrorists have no religion.  He said Islam has no link with terrorism.

He asked the youths of the Ummah that they are future of the Ummah and should standup against those groups following wrong lines. He said those holding fast to Quran and Sunnah cannot be on a wrong path.

The Imam also called upon the Islamic media to uphold the flag of Islam and project its values.

Imam-e-Kaaba said that Islam ensures right of every human and said that every human has equal right.

He said that the Prophet Muhammad (SAWW) was issued the basic manifesto of Islam and human rights in his last sermon and said that there is no difference between any Arabic and Ajami, black and white, rich and poor.

Shiekh Sudais said the Ummah should act upon according to this manifesto and should ensure the safety, life, honor of all people.

He said that Islam desirous establishment of government based on peace and stability in the world and for this purpose all Muslims should leave personal interests to ensure peace and inter-harmony among the people.

Sheikh Sudais said that ideal society could not be established without discourage of crime in the society.

Imam-e-Kaaba said that the Muslims of Palestinian and Syria are facing difficulties and the Umma should be united to address their problems. He urged Islamic scholars to work together for promotion of inter-harmony and avoid any act which causes scatter of Ummah. He said that the Hajj gathering is also a message of Unity and the pilgrims should maintain this sprit in their home towns. Earlier, millions of faithful from across the world, including Pakistan gathered in Arafat today for the main Hajj ritual, Waqoof-e-Arafat.

After the Khutba e Haj, the faithfuls offered Zohr and Asr prayers together. After the Maghrib prayers, the Hujjaj left for Muzdalfa where they will offer Maghrib and Isha prayers together. Whole night will be spent in Mazdalfa under open sky and Hujjaj will offer Fajr prayer on 10 Zill Hajj, after which they will travel back to Mina.

Official figures issued late Saturday said the total number of pilgrims exceeds 1.8 million, with more than 1.3 million arrived from outside the kingdom.
